NUTRITION STATEMENT

A4 COMMUNITY CARE SERVICES

At A4 Community Care Services, we believe that everyone deserves access to nutritious and healthy food. We understand that food insecurity can have a detrimental impact on physical and mental health, and we aim to provide our recipients with the best possible food options to help them meet their nutritional needs.

We believe in the importance of a balanced diet that includes a variety of foods from different food groups. That's why we distribute a range of foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and low-fat dairy products. We strive to provide foods that are nutrient-rich and that contribute to a healthy, balanced diet.

We also understand that some of our recipients may have special dietary needs, such as food allergies, diabetes, or other health conditions. That's why we make sure to accommodate these needs by providing appropriate food options. We believe that everyone should have access to food that meets their dietary needs and contributes to their overall health and well-being.

We want to make it easy for our recipients to prepare healthy meals using the food items they receive from us. That's why we provide recipes and cooking tips that take into account the ingredients we distribute. We hope that these resources will empower our recipients to create delicious and nutritious meals that meet their dietary needs and preferences.

In addition to providing food, we also offer nutrition education and resources to help our recipients make informed choices about their food and nutrition. We believe that knowledge is power, and we want to help our recipients make the best possible choices for their health and well-being.

Overall, our goal is to provide our recipients with access to nutritious and healthy food options that contribute to a balanced diet and overall well-being. We believe that everyone deserves access to good food, and we are committed to doing our part to make that a reality.

Recipes

Beef and Vegetable Stir-Fry

Ingredients:

- 1 lb. sirloin steak, thinly sliced

- 2 tbsp. cornstarch

- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil

- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced

- 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced

- 2 cups broccoli florets

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 tsp. grated ginger

- 3 tbsp. low-sodium soy sauce

- 1 tbsp. oyster sauce

- 1 tsp. honey

- Salt and pepper, to taste

- Cooked brown rice, for serving

Instructions:

1. In a medium bowl, toss the sliced beef with the cornstarch until well coated. Set aside.

2. In a large wok or skillet, heat the vegetable oil over high heat. Add the sliced bell pepper, onion, and broccoli and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, until slightly softened.

3. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger and stir-fry for another 30 seconds, until fragrant.

4. Add the beef to the pan and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until browned on all sides.

5. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

6. Pour the sauce over the stir-fry and toss to coat evenly. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and the vegetables are tender-crisp.

7. Serve the stir-fry hot over cooked brown rice.

This recipe provides a good balance of protein, fiber, and healthy carbohydrates from the meat and vegetables, and the brown rice adds additional fiber and complex carbohydrates.
